Betfred Championship Preview | Round 24

Betfred Championship Preview | Round 24

Find out what the possible Play-Off ramifications could be in Round 24 of the Betfred Championship....

It’s all happening in the Betfred Championship this weekend, with a blockbuster line-up in Round 24 and plenty of Play-Off permutations!

With York Knights on a bye week, Bradford and Toulouse have a massive opportunity to close the gap on top spot as they meet for a mouthwatering contest on Saturday Night.

Both teams are currently level on 32 points, with the Bulls in holding onto second spot solely via points difference.

The French side were strong winners in their last meeting with the Bulls (36-4), but Bradford are on a relentless roll at present – having won their last five matches and their momentum rapidly building as we spearhead towards the Play-Offs.

They also have home advantage this Saturday.

Toulouse missed a big chance when they were beaten by York in the south of France last week. Could this be a result that comes back to haunt them?

With a brutal battle expected to unfold, who will be sitting in second and just two points behind the league leaders after Round 24?

Don't forget - finishing in second place guarantees a home semi-final...

The remainder of Saturday’s action sees a bottom four clash as Batley entertain London.

On Sunday, Oldham can guarantee themselves a fourth-place finish with a win against Doncaster at Boundary Park – a remarkable achievement for the newly-promoted.

And it’s a tie that promises fireworks as the Dons occupy seventh in the table and are just one point away from sixth.

Every two points are crucial from this point on as they compete with Play-Off rivals Featherstone, Halifax, Widnes and Barrow for a place in that top six.

Last time out, it was a Josh Drinkwater masterclass which saw the Roughyeds withstand a Doncaster comeback as they secured an exhilarating 26-30 win.

Will we see more of the same in Round 24?

Then, the battle for Play-Off places continues even further as Barrow and Halifax face off in an important encounter.

The Panthers are clinging onto sixth spot for dear life and it's must-win game if they are to retain this. And while the Raiders are relying on other results to go their way, they aren’t by any means out of the race just yet.

Meanwhile, Widnes have a huge opportunity to climb the league ladder as they host bottom of the table Hunslet.

The Vikings are well in the mix to secure a top six finish, but will have to keep picking up the points if they are to do so…

Likewise, fifth-placed Featherstone travel to Sheffield in hope of further consolidating their Play-Off place.

There's a long list of possible outcomes this weekend - but how will the league standings look after an extremely pivotal Round 24?
